This was the scene in Salisbury yesterday evening after a house fire broke out on the Salisbury Road heading towards River Glade. Local volunteer fire fighters received the call around 6 p.m. after neighbours called 911.

No one was at home when the fire broke out in the mobile home along Route 106 near River Glade, said Salisbury Fire Chief David Bannister. The fire appears to have been electrical in nature, he said.

Firefighters from Salisbury, Petitcodiac, Havelock and Elgin were summoned to the scene to ensure a steady supply of water to fight the blaze, but water wasn't the problem. Firefighters also had to contend with strong winds. They did prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby garage and two vehicles.

Bannister said the occupants are staying with family nearby.

Nothing was salvaged from the flames.

The blaze was noticed at around 6 p.m.
